SMOKING & DNA: Smoking damages DNA within minutes. Even the researchers say they were surprised. They looked at something called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons-- these are known cancer causing agents in cigarette smoke. They labeled and tracked that chemical in 12 volunteers. It only took 15 to 30 minutes for it to create DNA damage.

GAMING & KIDS MENTAL HEALTH: Are video games creating mental health problems for kids? The answer is yes according to this new and controversial study. It followed more than 3,000 children for 2 years. The researchers say 1 in 10 were considered addicted. And while many had behavioral problems to begin with, the symptoms of depression and anxiety got worse and their grades dropped. All of that improved when the addiction stopped.
