Working Mother’s Held Responsible for Children Poor HealthWorking mothers have an added concern of their kid’s health. Working women have always been at the receiving end of facing wrath from their families for choosing their career over their kids. After studying various reviews of surveys from the past 20 years, U. S researchers claimed that children of working mothers are more likely to fall victim of health issues like asthma and accidents in comparison to those with non-working mothers.

As per the Lead researcher Dr Sandler Morrill, Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics in North Carolina State University, kids of working mothers are almost three times more prone to health issues since their mother’s have to struggle to strike a balance between their personal and professional life.

Voicing the guilt- stricken mother’s, Morill has made an appeal to impart more support to the working mothers who shoulder the responsibilities of their spouse to run the household. Though irregular presence of their mother’s during the day could be the possible reason of this result, mothers cannot be held responsible for the health issues of their kids since father’s role has not been taken into account in the study.

Moreover, another study published in ‘Child Development’ has cited the long working hours of mother’s as the potential cause of gaining weight of their children.
