The event is proudly sponsored by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing.

It is supported by the Australian Government, all State, Territory Governments and Local Governments and the Heart Foundation, Cancer Council, Diabetes Australia, Beyond Blue and the Australian Conservation Foundation.

Road safety education is addressed within the Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) curriculum. Children participated in learning activities which addressed key road safety messages, particularly pedestrian safety messages. Some of these messages included; hold a grown-up’s hand when they cross the road, wait till the bus has gone and then use a safe place to cross and Stop! Look! Listen! Think! every time you cross the road.
